Health Sector Support Projects Worth RO 700,000 Inaugurated in South A’Sharqiyah

Muscat: The Directorate General of Health Services in South A'Sharqiyah Governorate inaugurated today a package of support projects provided by Oman India Fertiliser Company (OMIFCO), at a total cost of approximately RO 700,000. The projects cover the period from 2022 to 2026 within the framework of the partnership between the public and private sectors to support the health sector in the governorate.

According to Oman News Agency, the inauguration ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Yahya Badr Al Maawali, Governor of South A'Sharqiyah. The projects aim to enhance the infrastructure of health establishments and equip them with modern medical devices and equipment, contributing to raising the efficiency of health services and improving the quality of diagnosis and treatment for citizens and residents.

Eng. Khalid Mohammed Al Fannah Al Araimi, Sustainability and Corporate Communications Manager at Oman India Fertiliser Company, stated that the package of projects comes within the company's commitment to its social responsibility and its keenness to support the health sector and enhance its capabilities to keep pace with the needs of health institutions in South A'Sharqiyah Governorate.

He explained that the projects included financing the purchase of ultrasound equipment for pregnant women's clinics and radiology departments in a number of hospitals, health complexes, and health centers in the governorate. This includes Sur Hospital, Sur Health Complex, Jalan Bani Bu Ali and Jalan Bani Bu Hassan hospitals, Jalan Health Complex, and several health centers, at a value of RO 334,000, making it the largest support project implemented by the company during this period.

He added that the projects also comprised financing the expansion of Al Kamil Health Center at a cost of RO 160,000, financing the purchase of electroencephalogram (EEG) and electromyography (EMG) devices for the stroke unit inaugurated in 2024 at a value of RO 52,000, and financing the purchase of an electrical generator for Jalan Health Complex at a value of RO 82,000. Furthermore, they included financing the purchase of endoscopes for Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) clinics at Sur Hospital and Jalan Health Complex at a value of RO 33,500, and maintaining the garden of Jalan Bani Bu Ali Hospital at a cost of RO 8,000.
