Muscat: The Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit organized the closing ceremony of the Global Quality Week. This event marked the culmination of a week filled with activities involving over 30 government entities that executed various events and institutional initiatives. These initiatives were aimed at fostering a culture of quality, excellence, and innovation within the governmental work environment, thereby reinforcing the goals of Oman Vision 2040 to achieve a leading government in terms of performance, efficiency, and competitiveness.
According to Oman News Agency, the ceremony was held under the patronage of HH Sayyid Dr. Kamil bin Fahad Al Said, Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and was attended by Sayyid Dr. Munther bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Deputy Head of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit. The ceremony featured a visual presentation that documented the activities of the Global Quality Week and highlighted the participation of government institutions. Additionally, there was a presentation on the Unit’s efforts to promote a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
The event also included a performance by a group of school students, illustrating the incorporation of quality concepts within the educational landscape. This segment highlighted the growing awareness among younger generations about the significance of quality as a value and a behavior that contributes to building a distinguished knowledge society, supporting the path of comprehensive development. The ceremony concluded with the recognition of entities that had presented impactful initiatives in quality and institutional excellence.
The Global Quality Week celebrations saw 15 government entities conduct external events to raise awareness about the importance of quality and to promote a culture of excellence across different work environments. Meanwhile, 15 other government entities organized internal events focused on enhancing institutional capabilities and encouraging employees to adopt quality practices. These events engaged more than 1,240 employees and beneficiaries, reflecting a broad participation in the week’s activities.
