GCC Businesswomen Forum in Doha Focuses on Economic Empowerment


Doha: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) today participated in the 7th Gulf Businesswomen Forum, organized in Doha, Qatar, by the Federation of GCC Chambers, in cooperation with Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the GCC Secretariat General. The OCCI delegation was headed by Areej Mohsin Darwish, Member of OCCI Board of Directors, and it comprised a select group of Omani businesswomen.



According to Oman News Agency, the forum embodies a shared GCC vision towards empowering women economically and enhancing women’s role in entrepreneurship and sustainability. The topics of the forum reflected the positive shift in the thinking of GCC women entrepreneurs and the transition from traditional business models to more innovative and sustainable projects.



The forum included three dialogue sessions. The first, titled ‘GCC Businesswomen and Sustainable Investment’, explored prospects for developing women’s investment practices. The second dialogue session was titled ‘GCC Women Entrepreneurs: The shift from traditional to innovative business’. It elaborated on means of empowering women in the field of digital economy and encouraged the adoption of innovative business models. The third dialogue session, held at the conclusion of the forum, was titled ‘Arbitration in Enhancing GCC Women’s Business Environment’. It dealt with the role of arbitration in protecting the investments of GCC businesswomen.
