Fujairah International Airport Receives SalamAir’s Flight from Muscat International Airport

Fujairah International Airport today received the first direct SalamAir flight coming from Muscat International Airport, using the Airbus 320.

The flight was accorded an official welcome upon its arrival. Ismaeil Mohammed Al Balushi, Director of Fujairah International Airport, expressed delight at the event, stressing that all arrangements will be made to ensure the success and continuation of such flights via Muscat-Fujairah route.

For his part, Captain Mohamed Ahmed, CEO of SalamAir, said that Muscat-Fujairah-Muscat route constitutes a regular rather than a seasonal track. He pointed out that the airline plans to increase flights on this route in the future, with promotional offers on schedule.

In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), Captain Mohamed said that SalamAir seeks to operate cargo flights, making use of a special aircraft on its fleet that serves this purpose.

Captain Mohamed added that SalamAir’s first flight to Fujairah Airport received a large turnout of passengers, with the number of those who shuttled back from Fujairah to Muscat rising to 120. This, he said, indicates the success of the step taken by the company’s board of directors in operating flights to the Emirate of Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.
