Four Omani Officials Appointed to Technical Committee for Asian Beach Games in Sanya

Muscat: The Asian Handball Federation has selected four Omani officials to serve on the technical committee for the beach handball competition at the Asian Beach Games, hosted by the city of Sanya in the People's Republic of China during 22-30 April. This appointment further underscores Oman's active presence across various committees of the Asian Handball Federation.

According to Oman News Agency, the list includes Issa Said Al Jabri, Maher Saif Al Dughaishi, Iyad Khamis Al Ma'shari, and Walid Khalfan Al Sinani, who will contribute to the technical and organizational aspects of the continental competition.

A total of 15 national teams are participating in the beach handball tournament, divided into two groups. Group One comprises the host nation China, along with Iran, the Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Sri Lanka, and Bahrain. Group Two features the Sultanate of Oman alongside Pakistan, Jordan, the Maldives, Bangladesh, Thailand, Qatar, and Mongolia.

The Omani national beach handball team will begin its campaign on 21 April, facing Mongolia in the morning session, followed by a match against Qatar later the same day. The team will continue its fixtures on 22 April against Thailand, then take on the Maldives on 24 April, face Bangladesh on 26 April, and meet Jordan on 27 April. The team will conclude its first-round matches with a game against Pakistan on the same day.
