Foreign Minister Meets German Minister of State for Foreign Affairs

Berlin, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, held a meeting here today with Andreas Michaelis, Secretary of State at the German Federal Foreign Office, on the sidelines of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.

The meeting dealt with the two countries’ growing bilateral relations and aspects of cooperation in different fields.

The two sides stressed the significance of the Royal visit of His Majesty the Sultan which, they said, ushered in a new era of partnership in various spheres, notably economy, investment, renewable energy, green power, scientific and cultural fields.

The meeting was an opportunity to exchange views on regional and international developments. The two sides underscored the importance of dialogue for the settlement of global disputes by peaceful means to help achieve lasting security and stability.

The meeting was attended by Khalid Hashel Al Muselhi, Head of the Minister’s Office Department, and Thomas Schneider, German Ambassador to the Sultanate of National, as well as Terven Bellman, Political Director at the German Foreign Ministry, Head of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (on the Iranian nuclear file).
