Final Qualifications for Holy Quran Competition Begin in Al Buraimi Governorate

Muscat: The Holy Quran Competition Committee for the 2025-2026 academic year has commenced the final qualifications for the Holy Quran Competition across schools in Al Buraimi Governorate.

According to Oman News Agency, the competition includes two branches: the Memorization of the Holy Quran and the Mastery of Recitation and Melodious Voice, with the participation of 29 government schools and 9 private schools. This initiative reflects an ongoing commitment to enhancing religious values and consolidating the status of the Holy Quran among students.

The Holy Quran Memorization branch witnessed competition across six levels this year. The Distinguished Level, open to all grades, requires the memorization of ten parts. The First Level, designated for students in grades 11-12, involves memorizing five consecutive parts; the Second Level for grades 8-10 requires four consecutive parts; and the Third Level for grades 5-7 involves three consecutive parts. The Fourth Level includes grades 3-4 with the memorization of two consecutive parts, while the Fifth Level is for students in early education through grade 2 and requires memorizing one part. The first-place winners from each level for both genders, totaling 18 students, will qualify to compete at the national level across Oman in April.

A total of 110 students participated across the six levels of the memorization competition, while 61 students took part in the Mastery of Recitation and Melodious Voice branch, which comprised three levels.

The competition sees increasing participation and positive competition each year, reflecting the level of care given to the memorization, tajweed, and contemplation of the meanings of the Quran by both students and their parents. This competition is part of the Ministry of Education's focus on developing the religious and moral aspects of students.
