London, All six English Premier League (EPL) teams involved in the European Super League (ESL) have withdrawn from the competition.
Manchester City were the first club to pull out after Chelsea had signalled their intent to do so by preparing documentation to withdraw.
The other four sides – Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham – have all followed suit.
Italian side Inter Milan are also set to withdraw as they no longer wish to be involved with the project.
Bosses at the Italian Serie A club are preparing for their exit following Tuesday dramatic developments, BBC sports reported.
Following the same suit, the Spanish club Atletico Madrid have become the first of the Spanish teams to leave the ESL following the reaction of fans and the world of football in general.
In Italy, the Chinese-owned club Inter Milan are the first Italian side to withdraw from the 12-team project, which also includes Juventus and AC Milan, the Spanish MARCA newspaper reported.
