London, A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck today the South Sandwich Islands, a British overseas territory in the South Atlantic Ocean. The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 35 km. There were no reports of material damage or human losses as a result of the earthquake. The South Sandwich Islands are an archipelago that forms part of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, which are an overseas territory of the UK. Source: Oman News Agency
