Bogot¡: Colombians go to the polls today to cast their votes for a new president, with leading candidates including Iv¡n Cepeda, Paloma Valencia, and Abilardo de la Espriella. Approximately 41 million citizens are eligible to vote to choose a successor to President Gustavo Petro, who is constitutionally barred from seeking a second term.

According to Oman News Agency, Colombian media reports indicated that more than 400,000 soldiers and police officers have been deployed to monitor and secure the electoral process.
