China launched a Smart Dragon-3 carrier rocket from the waters near the city of Haiyang in east China’s Shandong Province today, placing eight satellites into planned orbit.
The commercial rocket blasted off this morning (Beijing Time), carrying Tianyi-41 and other satellites, according to China’s News Agency (Xinhua).
The Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center carried out this offshore launch. On 6 September 2024, China launched ten remote sensing satellites into space to test new technologies for low-orbit satellite constellations.
