BTEA CEO attends Global Travel Hall of Fame

London, Dr. Nasser Qaedi, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) participated in the Global Travel Hall of Fame, organised by Jacobs Media Group in collaboration with TheTreadRight Foundation on the sidelines of the World Travel Market (WTM) London.

Dr. Qaedi highlighted the success of Bahrain’s tourism sector, which has seen an increase in the number of tourists in the past year.

This further supports the ambitious goals of the kingdom’s tourism strategy for 2022-2026, with arrivals expected to reach 14.1 million in 2026, he said.

The sector also contributes to Bahrain’s gross domestic product, diversification of income sources, and supports the national economy, he added.

BTEA CEO highlighted Bahrain’s plans to introduce diverse tourism and entertainment programmes, offering incentives and packages for tourists from various regions, to boost the country’s competitiveness and attract more visitors.

The CEO praised the strategic partnership between BTEA and Jacobs Media Group, emphasizing the need to strengthen the Kingdom of Bahrain’s tourism position.

He announced the launch of tourism events to promote Bahrain in targeted global markets.

The CEO of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority held meetings with ministers and executives to enhance tourism cooperation with other countries and organisations.

He met with Iceland’s First Lady, Elisa Reid, to discuss ways to improve bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector and benefit from shared expertise and experiences in this promising global sector.

The CEO also held a discussion session with Julia Simpson, President and CEO of the World Travel and Tourism Council, who discussed the tourism industry’s sustainability and its role in economic and human development.

Dr. Qaedi and Edmund Bartlett, Jamaican Minister of Tourism, discussed enhancing cooperation in tourism and benefits from joint tourism promotion.
