Beirut: Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdullah Bou Habib, on Friday welcomed Major General Aroldo Lazaro, the Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), to his office. The discussions reportedly focused on the challenges faced by peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon amidst Israeli attacks and the threats that hinder their operations due to ongoing aggression by Israel against Lebanon.
According to National news agency – Lebanon, Minister Bou Habib expressed his condemnation of any attacks on UNIFIL personnel and emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety and security of its members and headquarters. He reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to supporting the role of UNIFIL in maintaining peace and security in the region.
Bou Habib also reiterated Lebanon’s full commitment to implementing UN Resolution 1701 comprehensively and balancedly, aiming to restore calm along its southern borders and ensure lasting stability. Additionally, Bou Habib held discussi
