Taif: Bahraini camels, owned by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, achieved further victories in the seventh Crown Prince Camel Festival in Taif.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the camel ‘Al Shahiniya’ won the first cup in a 4 km race, while ‘Samsam’ secured the second cup over the same distance. ‘Sayhad’ also achieved a second-place finish in the same contest. These victories add to the distinguished record of Bahraini camels in regional competitions, following the earlier triumph of ‘Al Sarea’ in the open category.
The festival, organised by the Saudi Camel Federation, is the largest of its kind worldwide. It features hundreds of races across various categories, with total prizes exceeding SAR 50 million. The event attracts wide participation from Gulf and Arab camel owners and underscores the region’s commitment to preserving and promoting heritage sports.
