Beirut: In a statement before a delegation from the Open University of the Arab League, President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, reaffirmed that civil peace remains the highest priority, superseding any other considerations. He emphasized the vital role of the Lebanese Army and security forces in maintaining this peace, asserting that their efforts are fundamental in safeguarding Lebanon’s stability and security.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Aoun declared, “The Army and security forces are carrying out their duties with utmost dedication to ensure this goal, which remains a red line.” He further stressed the importance of their vigilance in securing the safety of citizens, noting that without their commitment, Lebanon would not have regained its security and stability.
President Aoun also reiterated that it is unacceptable for anyone to direct criticism or attacks against the Army or the security forces, emphasizing that they are a “red line” in the nation’s defense.
Aoun further emphasized the total coordination and unwavering cooperation between the Army and security forces in combating terrorism, organized crime, and drug trafficking. He praised their commitment and responsibility in carrying out their security duties, ensuring the protection of Lebanon’s people and the nation as a whole.
