A’suwaiq: A delegation from the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) visited Hind Bint Omar Basic Education School in the Wilayat of A’Suwaiq. This school is part of the North Al Batinah Governorate Directorate of Education. The visit was part of the pilot phase of the “Stories on Sustainable Development” project being implemented by the organization.
According to Oman News Agency, the purpose of the visit was to observe the school’s efforts in promoting awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals among students. This is achieved through educational stories and activities that encourage environmental and social consciousness and support sustainable development practices within the school environment.
During the tour, the delegation viewed a variety of educational activities offered to the students and attended a student exhibition showcasing examples of student work across various scientific, educational, and professional fields. The students also showcased performances and cultural talents that reflect Omani identity and national heritage.
At the end of the visit, members of the delegation praised the school’s excellence in integrating sustainable development concepts through education and practical application. This approach enhances students’ skills in creative thinking and teamwork, aligning with the aspirations of Oman Vision 2040 to build a generation aware of environmental and sustainable development issues.
