Omani and Ugandan Chambers Sign MoU to Boost Trade Relations

Muscat:The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry to enhance economic and trade relations between Oman and Uganda.

According to Oman News Agency, the agreement aims to foster cooperation between private sector institutions in both countries, encourage trade and investment initiatives, and build partnerships to expand business relations.

The MoU outlines fields of cooperation such as exchanging economic and trade information, introducing markets and investment opportunities, and facilitating direct communication between business owners. Both parties plan to organize trade delegations, participate in exhibitions and economic events, and exchange expertise in foreign trade and export promotion.

The signing took place during a meeting in which Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of OCCI, received a Ugandan delegation led by Karamagi Alpha Charles, currently visiting Oman. Discussions focused on enhancing trade and investment cooperation and exploring joint projects in sectors like agriculture, tourism, mining, and technology.

Both sides emphasized preparing a joint action plan to activate the MoU, appointing focal points at each chamber for implementation follow-up, and exchanging information on economic exhibitions and events. These efforts aim to enable stronger trade relations and partnerships between the two nations.
