London: The Sultanate of Oman participated today in the 137th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council, which was held at the IMO headquarters in London.

According to Oman News Agency, the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman was headed by Eng. Khamis Mohammed Al Shamakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Transport. The delegation included representatives from military and civil entities involved in the maritime sector.

This participation underscores the Sultanate of Oman's active engagement in the work of the International Maritime Organization. It emphasizes its role in enhancing the security and safety of maritime navigation, protecting international sea lanes, and supporting international cooperation to ensure the smooth flow of global trade and the sustainability of maritime transport.
