Health Ministry Partners with Al Yusr Charity Foundation to Launch Pulmonary Unit at Khoula Hospital

Muscat: The Ministry of Health, represented by the Directorate General of Khoula Hospital, today signed a funding agreement with Al Yusr Charity Foundation to establish an integrated pulmonary unit at the hospital, to the tune of RO 560,000.

According to Oman News Agency, the agreement was signed by Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al Alawi, Director General of Khoula Hospital, and Omar bin Mohammed Al Farsi, Director General of Al Yusr Charity Foundation. The initiative aligns with the health sector's objective to achieve sustainable health for all, following the goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040.

Dr. Rashid Al Alawi emphasized that the project marks a significant advancement in developing specialized medical services and incorporating modern technologies for diagnosing and treating respiratory diseases according to global standards. The unit is expected to commence operations in early 2027.

He further mentioned that the establishment of the pulmonary unit would enhance diagnostic accuracy, expedite treatment procedures, and reduce complications. The partnership with Al Yusr Charity Foundation represents a model of collaboration between the public sector and civil society institutions, aiding in the development of national competencies and broadening the scope of specialized services.

Omar Al Farsi highlighted that such cooperation aligns with Al Yusr Charity Foundation's commitment to supporting the health sector. The foundation's initiative exemplifies social responsibility and aims to improve medical services to meet community health needs.

The new pulmonary unit will significantly enhance specialized services at Khoula Hospital, providing a comprehensive system for diagnosing and treating respiratory diseases. It will feature facilities for microbronchoscopy, respiratory efficiency tests, and manage sleep disorders diagnosis and treatment.
