Muscat: The Municipal Council of North A’Sharqiyah Governorate convened for its 5th meeting of 2026 to discuss a range of developmental, service, and planning topics across the governorate’s wilayats. The meeting was presided over by Mahmoud Yahya Al Dhuhli, the Governor of North A’Sharqiyah and Chairman of the Council.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting commenced with the approval of the minutes from the previous session and proceeded to review updates on technical transactions related to building and construction within the municipality departments. Additionally, proposals for enhancing the facades of commercial buildings were considered to improve the urban landscape and the overall appearance of the area.
The Council also explored investment opportunities available through the “Tatweer” platform. One notable project discussed was the establishment of a water purification and bottling plant in the Al Dakeek area in the Wilayat of Ibra. Furthermore, the meeting addressed various planning and service requests, such as the creation of land plots under usufruct rights, the relocation of sports facilities, and the development of planning pockets for residential and industrial purposes in several wilayats.
This meeting is part of the Council’s ongoing efforts to follow up on developmental and service projects, aiming to enhance the quality of services provided to both citizens and residents in North A’Sharqiyah Governorate.
