Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, engaged in discussions with Archbishop Dr. Nicolas Henry Thevenin, the Vatican Ambassador to Oman, to strengthen ties between the Sultanate of Oman and the Vatican. The meeting focused on fostering interfaith and intercultural dialogue grounded in respect and tolerance.
According to Oman News Agency, the discussions highlighted the importance of statements by Pope Leo XIV advocating for justice, peace, and dialogue over violence and conflict. The Foreign Minister underscored the significance of these principles in promoting global peace and enhancing international security and stability efforts.
Archbishop Thevenin acknowledged Oman's commitment to a peace-oriented foreign policy and its leadership in crisis management and humanitarian initiatives. He praised Oman's contributions to dialogue and its efforts to resolve challenges in ways that benefit all parties involved.
The meeting was also attended by Munthir bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Head of the Europe Department at the Foreign Ministry, along with other officials from both sides.
