Oman Launches Comprehensive Maritime Portal

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has introduced the "Oman Maritime Portal," a digital platform that aims to deliver over 90 maritime e-services. This initiative is designed to streamline procedures, enhance user experience, and reduce reliance on paper-based and manual processes. According to Oman News Agency, the portal's objectives include achieving integration with both government and private entities, offering secure and reliable digital services, and supporting decision-makers through dashboards and analytical reports. The platform also focuses on developing the skills of national personnel through training and knowledge transfer. The development of the portal will occur in six phases. During the initial phase, 13 essential services have been launched. These services include vessel and marine unit registration, issuance and renewal of navigation permits, and issuance of registration, mortgage, and discharge of mortgage certificates, along with inspection requ ests. It integrates with entities such as the Royal Oman Police, Oman Business Platform, various government ministries, and the private sector. "Oman Maritime Portal" serves as a single electronic window for all maritime and port services, contributing to procedural efficiency and improving access to services. This initiative underscores the Ministry's dedication to digital transformation and the provision of high-quality services. The platform features an integrated dashboard for real-time performance monitoring, offering request statistics by status, performance indicators, and a list of recent requests with filtering and search capabilities. This setup enhances oversight, improves monitoring efficiency, and clarifies operations management. The portal is set to enhance the delivery of maritime and logistics services through digital channels, ensuring ease of access, speed of completion, and a flexible, integrated user experience. It aims to elevate beneficiary satisfaction levels and supports the Ministr y's strategy to improve maritime and logistics services and strengthen digital transformation within the sector.
