Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman recorded an increase in total electricity production by 6.1 percent until the end of October 2025, reaching 44,814.7 gigawatt-hours (GWh), compared to 42,255.8 during the same period in 2024. This is according to preliminary data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

According to Oman News Agency, the statistics also showed an increase in net electricity production in the Sultanate of Oman-which includes purchases by the Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) and purchases by the Rural Areas Electricity Company by region-by 5.3 percent, reaching 43,532.7 GW until the end of October 2025, compared to 41,335.1 GW by the end of October 2024.

Regarding water production, the total production in the Sultanate of Oman until the end of October 2025 registered a slight decrease of 0.8 percent, reaching approximately 431,102.5 thousand cubic meters, compared to 434,563.2 thousand cubic meters during the same period last year.

At the governorate level, Muscat Governorate witnessed a decrease in water production of 11.7 percent, reaching 171,676.0 thousand cubic meters compared to 194,432.6 thousand cubic meters during the same period last year. Meanwhile, water production in Dhofar Governorate increased by 3.4 percent to reach 63,796.5 thousand cubic meters compared to 61,727.4 thousand cubic meters until the end of October 2024. Water production in the remaining governorates also increased by 9.7 percent, recording 195,630.1 thousand cubic meters compared to 178,403.2 thousand cubic meters during the same period last year.
