Kuwait city: The Sultanate of Oman participated today in the 42nd meeting of Ministers of Interior of GCC states in Kuwait. The meeting reviewed topics aimed at enhancing joint Gulf security cooperation and coordinating efforts to achieve security and stability in the region. The Omani delegation was led by Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting focused on developing the joint Gulf security work system and the progress of joint projects that aim to integrate GCC states in the security field. Discussions were held on establishing practical foundations for unified security strategies to enhance the efficiency of security agencies and create a unified Gulf stance against current and future challenges.
During the meeting, GCC Ministers of Interior attended the awarding ceremony of the Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Security Research Award for the years 2024/2025 at Bayan Palace in Kuwait. In the Institutional Award Category, Oman achieved first and second place, with the Police College and Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences taking the top two positions. The UAE’s Research and Development Center secured third place.
In the Individual Award Category, first place went to Dr. Ali Kadhim Al Sindi, Dr. Khawla Abdulrahim Al Shamsi, and Ali Ahmed Amini from Bahrain. Second place was awarded to Maj. Gen Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah from Qatar, while Lt. Colonel Dr. Mariam Tarish Al Marri from the UAE secured third place.
