Oman and Tunisia Discuss Enhanced Cooperation in Healthcare Sector


Muscat: Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health of Oman, welcomed Dr. Mustafa Al Ferjani, Minister of Health of Tunisia, to discuss potential enhancements in healthcare cooperation between the two countries. The meeting focused on mutual interests and reviewed the healthcare journeys in Oman and Tunisia, highlighting achievements and exploring ways to expand partnership and cooperation.



According to Oman News Agency, the ministers held an official session of talks aimed at developing cooperation in the health sector. Discussions included improving healthcare service efficiency, secure data exchange, enhancing human resource capabilities, keeping pace with global advancements in medicine, achieving drug security, and combating pandemics and cross-border diseases.



During his visit, Dr. Al Ferjani was presented with visual presentations on the “One Health” approach, primary healthcare, and the application of artificial intelligence in retinal eye screenings. He also visited the Emergency Management Center to understand its operational mechanisms and Oman’s strategies for managing health crises and disasters. Additionally, he toured the National Heart Center at the Royal Hospital, learning about its departments, clinics, and the therapeutic services offered.
