North al batinah: The Municipal Council of North Al Batinah Governorate has taken significant steps towards addressing key community and service topics, including youth empowerment and rising marriage costs. In a recent meeting chaired by Mohammed Sulaiman Al Kindi, the Governor of North Al Batinah, the Council discussed launching a national initiative aimed at empowering youth in the professional labour market. This initiative is seen as a crucial move to support young people’s aspirations and provide sustainable employment opportunities in vocational sectors.
According to Oman News Agency, the Council reviewed several responses from relevant government entities during the meeting. One of the critical issues examined was the rising costs associated with marriage, with the Social Affairs Committee presenting its findings on the matter. Additionally, the Council engaged with specialists from the Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources to address the cleaning of farms from mesquite trees and agricultural waste, reflecting its commitment to agricultural and environmental concerns.
The Council also discussed educational matters by reviewing a letter from the Ministry of Education regarding the registration of new students for the first grade in the academic year 2026/2027. It emphasized the importance of adhering to registration deadlines, highlighting the Council’s role in ensuring timely compliance from parents.
