According to Oman News Agency, Mbapp©'s trio of goals in the fourth, 33rd, and 61st minutes secured a 3-1 victory for Real Madrid, increasing their aggregate lead to 6-3 over the 2023 champions in their knockout playoff. Erling Haaland was unable to start for Manchester City due to a knee injury sustained during an English Premier League game last Saturday.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) triumphed over French rival Brest with a 7-0 win, achieving a 10-0 aggregate score, and will face either Liverpool or Barcelona in the round of 16.

PSV Eindhoven and Juventus were heading into extra time after the Dutch side led 2-1, leveling the aggregate score at 3-3. United States international Timothy Weah scored for Juventus.

The round of 16 features a new seeded bracket format, similar to tennis, for the knockout stage. Real Madrid, as the 11th-place team and No. 11 seed, is set to face either Atletico or Leverkusen, who placed fifth and sixth, respectively. Top-seeded Liverpool will compete against No. 15 PSG or No. 16 Benfica.
