Audio Guide Service Enhances Visitor Experience at National Museum

Audio Guide Service Enhances Visitor Experience at National Museum

MUSCAT: The National Museum has introduced an "Audio Guide" service to enrich the visitor experience, offering detailed historical insights into its galleries and selected artifacts. This service aims to provide an interactive museum experience, aligning with efforts to enhance digital transformation as part of Oman Vision 2040.

According to Oman News Agency, the "Audio Guide" service features 395 items and is available in both Arabic and English. It supports self-guided and group tours, offering flexibility for different visitor preferences. Special features are included for visitors with disabilities, such as audio descriptions for the visually impaired and sign language for the deaf-mute. The device also provides audio and visual instructions and an interactive map to help visitors navigate the museum and explore its significant artifacts.

The introduction of this service follows the museum's launch of a "Virtual Tour" service last December. This online offering allows users to virtually explore the museum's galleries and learn about rare artifacts from Oman's history, providing a remote yet immersive experience. The Audio Guide and Virtual Tour services collectively contribute to enhancing the cognitive and cultural understanding of visitors, encouraging greater interaction with the exhibits.
