Among the women, Taiwan's Gao Yun Rui won gold in the -40 kg category, with Brazil's Rarina Cassia da Costa taking silver. In the -44 kg category, Brazil's Juliana Yamasaki earned gold, while China's Mingfen Xie took silver.
