Caretaker Minister of Information, Eng. Ziad Makary, on Monday received a phone call from the Chairman of the Iraqi Communications and Media Commission, Dr. Ali Al-Muayad, during which the role of the Iraqi media in the relief campaigns called for by the supreme religious authority was presented, in addition to Iraq's "full readiness to support and cooperate with the Lebanese side in light of the current crisis." Discussions also reporetdly touched on a cooperation initiative between the Iraqi and Lebanese channels to press for an end to the war and attacks on civilians and residential neighborhoods in Beirut and the regions. Al-Muayyad also stressed that "the Iraqi media stands with the Lebanese people, within the framework of the directives of the supreme religious authority and the government of Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani."
