JWD holds annual meeting of Ashoora season

The Jaffaria Waqf Directorate (JWD) held its annual meeting for matams (religious community centres) in all governorates in preparation for the Ashoora season.

The meeting was attended by 300 representatives of matam administrations, Hussaini processions’ coordinators and official entities representatives.

Isa Sami Al Mannai, Justice and Islamic Affairs Undersecretary, Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, Health Ministry Undersecretary, Major-General Dr. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Public Security, Ali Al Shaikh Abdulhussain Al Asfoor, Northern Governor, were present at the meeting.

Yousif bin Saleh Al Saleh, Jaffaria Waqf Chairman, praised His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s, support for religious rituals, including Ashoora season.

He also hailed the support of the Kingdom’s institutions to revive this annual occasion in the best way possible.

Al Saleh affirmed that the royal directives supporting religious rituals set a steady approach and action framework, noting that Ashoora in Bahrain in unique because of the partnership between official entities, organisers and members of the Bahraini society.

The chairman hailed the support and follow-up of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Interior Minister, commending the efforts of the Ministry of Interior in preserving security and stability.

He expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, noting the follow-up of Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments in attending to the needs for worship houses and religious rituals.

Al Saleh praised the efforts of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, Works Ministry, Electricity and Water Authority and all governmental entities.

The Justice Ministry undersecretary said that the ministry supports JWD’s efforts in cooperation with all official and community organisations and supervisors of matams, especially in preparing for Ashoora season.

The Health Ministry undersecretary said the ministry valued the social commitment and responsibility of the Bahraini community over the last year, affirming the ministry’s keenness to providing necessary support for another successful Ashoora season.

He added that Ashoora season was a suitable platform for spreading health awareness, expressing the interest in spreading awareness on the ministry’s Genome Project and Organ Donation Programme during this season. He also noted the importance of blood donation campaigns held throughout the year, that help replenish the supplies of the Blood Bank.

The Northern Governor highlighted the importance of following up on services and security needs for the upcoming Ashoora season. He outlined the preparations and initiatives of the governorate for this year’s season, including cooperation with the Paramedics Academy.

The Deputy Chief of Public Security affirmed the Interior Ministry’s keenness to revive this occasion in a safe and healthy manner and to continue building on previous success.

He highlighted the importance of community partnership in maintaining order and implementing the law, noting the Bahrain’s keenness on supporting freedom for all to practice religious rituals.

Shaikh Hamad affirmed that the ministry will be available for direct communication at all times to help and provide security and stability during this occassion.
