PATRIARCH OF RUSSIA PRAYS FOR A QUICK END TO THE UKRAINE WAR

Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church said today that he hopes the Ukraine war will end quickly.

In an open-air prayer at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow marking Easter eve in eastern churches, Patriarch Kirill sprinkled holy water on colorful Easter bread, known as kulichi, and said many of it would be sent to the Donbass region in eastern Ukraine.

He said: “May the Lord’s gift to us on this Feast of Resurrection be to help those involved in this difficult conflict to rest their hearts, minds and souls, so that this deadly conflict ends as soon as possible and the long-awaited peace prevails, and with it a prayer that people’s piety and their faith will be strengthened.”
